BEREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE : WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The “Work Integrated Learning Competition” is a Promotional Competition, as defined in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, and is hereinafter referred to as “the Competition”.

2. The Competition is organised and conducted by Berea Technical College (Pty) Ltd, trading as Berea Technical College (hereinafter referred to as “BTC”), in the promotion of its business.

3. BTC reserves the right to amend, modify, change, postpone, suspend or cancel the Competition and any prize (which has not yet been won), or any part thereof, at any time and without notice, for any reason that BTC reasonably considers to be necessary.

4. The Competition is open to all registered students of BTC, except:

(a) Any employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of BTC or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by, BTC; and/or

(b) Any employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of any supplier of any goods or services in respect of the competition; and/or

(c) Immediate family members of any employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of BTC

(hereinafter referred to as “Disqualified Persons”).

5. Participants stand a chance of winning 1 of 10 Electronic Tablets and Data. The total value of the prize is estimated at R5 000.

6. Entries into the competition will be accepted during the competition period 20 August 2020 to 20 March 2021 but may, at the discretion of BTC, be extended.

7. To stand a chance of winning one of 10 prizes, participants must fill out an entry form or enter the competition online during the entry period.

(a) An entry form will be available at the premises of BTC and BCT during the entry period;

(b) Alternatively, enter the competition online during the entry period;

(c) The entry form must contain the contact details of 10 persons who the entrant knows would be interested in studying with Berea Technical College (BTC) or its related brands, Berea College of Technology (BCT) or Berea Matric School (BMS). Entries will only be included in the draw for prizes once all referrals have been contacted and registered successfully.

(d) A random lucky draw with qualifying entries will be held monthly to determine the prize winner for that month. The first draw will be held within 14 working days of the closing date for entries. The awardees will be notified within 14 working days of the draw. The subsequent draws for each prize will then we held monthly.

(e) If the winner cannot be reached within the specified period, and all options to contact the winner has been exhausted, BTC reserves the right to draw another winner.

8. By entering the Competition, all participants are bound by these rules and in that regard, the decision of BTC, in relation to the interpretation and application of the rules, shall be final and binding.

9. Entries that are incomplete, unclear, illegible, are submitted via an incorrect entry mechanism, or which contains material errors, or who are from Disqualified Persons, will be declared invalid.

10. The decision of BTC in relation to the determination of the winners will be final and binding.

11. The Prizes are neither transferable nor redeemable for cash and BTC is not liable for any defect in the Prizes. BTCs reserve the right to substitute the Prizes with any other prizes of comparable commercial value.

12. BTC may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable BTC to ensure compliance with these rules and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this rule for any reason, such winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prize and it shall revert back to BTC.

13. All Participants indemnify BTC, its directors, agents, advisers and employees against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way whatsoever in this promotional competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of gross negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of BTC).

14. Should any dispute arise in relation to the conduct of the competition, BTCs’ decision shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
